Worker's comp administrator designates 2010 as "Year of the Agent"
February 17, 2010

OKLAHOMA CITY - “In recognition of the critical role that agents play in the success of our organization, Unisource Program Administrators has designated 2010 as ‘Year of the Agent,’” said CEO Robert Barcum. “Our focus for the year will be on making it easy for agents to conduct business with us.
“Our first order of business in 2010 was to do away with premium commitments,” Barcum said. “We unveiled a new commission plan and we are no longer requiring premium commitments. Commissions are now based on productivity. As an agency’s productivity increases so does its commission.”
Other “Year of the Agent” initiatives include:
- Adding more workers’ compensation markets in more states
- Updating UPA’s online submission platform to make it more agent-friendly and
- Hosting free Webinars as a service to agents
The first two Webinar topics and dates are:
- UPAY-As-You-Go, an innovative workers’ compensation cash flow solution - Tuesday, March 16
- Social media for independent insurance agents: Connect with clients…grow your business – Thursday, April 22
“Every day is a great day at UPA,” Barcum said. “We hope to make 2010 a great year for our agents.”
